Vans / Steal This Gallery

Steal This Gallery was an immersive exhibition concept that invited visitors to physically remove artworks from the gallery itself. Created during New York Fashion Week, the installation featured commissioned works by artists Didi Rojas, Eri Wakiyama, and Leon Xu interpreting Vans’ heritage through contemporary visual language.

Guests selected pieces directly from the displays, blurring the line between exhibition and participation. Limited-edition artworks, prints, and products became take-home artifacts, reinforcing Vans’ ethos of accessibility and creative ownership.

The experience reframed retail as cultural interaction, encouraging audiences to engage with art and brand simultaneously through action rather than observation.
